China is a country abundant with population strength. This means that there should be abundance of labour for industries in the nation. However, the reality is quite different. China lacks majorly in availability of quality qualified staff. Another labour problem that plagues China is that there is abundance of educated staff who are not work ready and persistent shortage of labour to work at the shop floor level The paper is aimed at analysing different strategies that companies in China, both domestic and multinational, adopt in order to combat and manage the recruitment and retention issues with labour.
